"I was addicted to heroin 4 days ago..."

In explanation of my subject line... we were doing Free Jesus books and this guy drove up to us and said "You wanna know something crazy?... I was addicted to heroin 4 days ago... I woke up and the addiction was gone." And as he drove away all we could say was "God is good!" It was awesome hahah! GOD IS GOOD! 

Another awesome thing that happened this week is that SCOTT GOT BAPTIZED!!! He also got his BAPTIST mom to come and she said "I have been baptized many times and that was the most amazing baptism I have ever seen" AYO!!! We had such a great Saturday!!! The DS2 sisters also had a baptism so it was such a special day!! 

Okay so the guy the DS2 sisters baptized was LEONARD! And he is literally the best person ever! He had us over on Sunday and made us a MEAL! We had ribs, potatoes, mac n cheese, corn and alll the good stuff! He told us before he started "man yall are gonna taste these and go "LEONARD CAN COOK" and yall gonna be thankin the rib master" And well... LEONARD CAN COOK and he really is the rib master!!!! He also told us he was gonna make the ribs "ghetto style" and I had no idea what that meant until he started to absolutely MAN HANDLE those things and proceed to season them right in the sink! It was awesome! He may have put 2 sticks of butter in the potatoes and told us orange juice was an energy drink but it was an awesome dinner! 

I went on exchanges with Sister Ervin and we had a party!!! We went to teach this lady named Genie! When Sister Spangler told me she looks like Mama Coco she was not wrong! She is the most adorable person ever!!! Her son has stage 4 cancer and she was so excited to see us and tell us that there are 12 different ways to get rid of his cancer and he is going to be okay! I love her!!! 

We have had a couple trips to the Amite river and that was probably the most productive weekly planning ever! Elder Hamilton is leaving this week so we have been living it up!!! Lots of meals with everyone who lives in our apartment complex and we even hit up TEXAS RODEHOUSE!! Literally made my day and I don't even want to say how many rolls I have eaten! I also now have Elder Hamiltons machete in my hands!!! Don't worry it probably doesn't even cut an apple hahah! 

Guys! GOD IS SO GOOD! He loves each and every one of you! He wants you to strive to be the best you can be at all times!! Continue to build your relationship with Him, His Beloved Son, &&& The Holy Ghost!!! They are all there for you during all of your trials, hardships and troubles! 

2 Nephi 31:20 - Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life

We back babyyy!  This week did a whole lotta bikin thats for sure!!!  At least we have unlimited miles 😎 We have been working alot with inactive members because there are SO MANY of them here in this town it's crazy!!!  We've had some funny experiences with some of them!  We went and visited James who got baptized back in the 80's but a week after he decided he is part of a different religion?!?!  Asked him where he stood rn and he said he be a Jedi-ite! It's exactly what you are thinking right now... he believes that there is a force which has a light side and a dark side!  I was mind blown!!! I was just trying to be respectful and not laugh because truly that is the most pathetic thing I have heard on my mission!!!  We texted another member and asked how he was doing and he goes "not good. I just lost all my life's savings betting on college football last night and my cat died"  Oh...  Continues on to ask if he can get his tithing back......

  Another exciting week in the 4th most dangerous city in the U.S!!!!! Was walking out of an apartment complex and a lady was walking out in a big rush!!  God had different plans for her and a recipt flew out of her hands!!!  Stopped her and gave it back and she goes "oh yall are the church people"  Yeah we are!!!   Called back that night and she had read our pamphlet already!!!!  Went back the next day and taught her the plan of salvation and she absolutely loved it!!!  It was so blessed and it's so cool to see God's hand in people's lives!!!  Went to the ward trunk or treat and went around stealing the kids candy mwhahaha  Went and taught Renee and she goes "I'm tryna get rebaptized but my pastor won't let me!!!!"  Well wll well we can help ya out with that!!!  Told her to come to church and she agreed to come next week and goes "that way I can tell people I won't be there next week, I don't have to tell them where I'm going ...

Pathetic Panzees

  GUESS WHAT MOM?! I COME HOME THIS YEAR!!!!!!  Sister Stokes woke up one morning and the first thing she said was "I had a dream that we went to justin biebers house and we went fishing!!!!"  Hehe yes pls!!!!!!  This week was a whole lot of "huntin and fishin and lovin every day" to say the least!  Lots and lots of finding and man have we seen miracles!!!!!  We back at it with FREE JESUS BOOKS and it came in clutch!!  12 numbers in an hour????  UH HUH!!!!  Met Phillip!! He was baptized into a catholic church two weeks ago... and HES NOT EVEN CATHOLIC!!!! (Direct quote from Phillip!!!)  Came to church yesterday and absolutely LOVED IT!  Our bestie Nchedo made us some absolutely fire Nigerian food!  I'm not gonna wanna eat when I get home because food in Utah tastes like cardboard compared to here!!!  Probs a good thing... I'll lose all the weight I have gained since I have been out here!  Don't ask don't tell :))))...
