This week has been a crazy one!!First off I got sick and have been hacking up a lung and a halfff but life goes on and hopefully I don't pass it to others! #thankselderloscherI HAD MY FIRST BIBLE BASH!!! It's so funny because anything this guy said we could counter it sooo fast!! Anyways everyone told me that was a big mile stone here hahaha!We had dinner at the bishops house and wowwww he can cook!! He had just got back from a trip to Alaska so he had like 6 different kinds of fish out on the table! Literally HEAVEN!!! He also gave me and my comp some to cook at home!! Anddd to top that off, the elders were by the pool when we got home so we went over and they had boiled crabs hahah! Like literally bought them live and boiled them! But apparently they bought them to put them in our tub sooo thank heavens we lock our doors because I would have died!!! They did put a toilet on our porch tho and they won't come get it off!You guys when I tell you the rain storms here are awesome, they are AWESOME! I am literally in awe because it goes from 0-100 in like .2 seconds it's crazy!! And the sunsets!!!! Like wowow!! So beautiful!!Saturday we had a little 4th of July barbecue with the elders!! It's fun to be able to do things with them!! Sister Ervin made Mac n Cheese and wow was that good!! She loves to cook, and I love to eat!! It's great!We have had a lot of lessons and we have been able to find a lot of people!! We still can't get anyone to get to church tho!! The biggest thing that holds people back is that they don't have cars which is super frustrating because we know they would be there! Our biggest tender mercy was that Sister Spangler and Sister Ervin were active calling on Facebook and they found this girl named Jessica! Buttt she is in mine and sister starlings area! So all four of us went and met her so they could pass her off to us!! She seemed really interested and ready for the gospel! And crazy thing is that she is good friends with a member in our ward sister mallet! It was funny because we were going over to the mallets that night for dinner!! We told sister Mallet that we went and taught Jessica and she was shocked!! But she was so excited and asked to come next time!! So yes we are excited about that!!!This week in my personal study I was looking back in my MTC notes and I came across a page on a talk by Elder Bednar called "the Character of Christ" idk if you can find it anywhere because it's an MTC devo. But I don't know hahah! Anyways the "Character of Christ" is that HE TURNS OUT WHEN THE NATURAL MAN WOULD TURN IN. Read that a couple times! With out the "Character of Christ" we would have no atoning sacrifice! He always, ALWAYS chose God! If we want to develop attributes of the "Character of Christ" we need to understand what it means! Here are some examples Elder Bednar gave:- Lose yourself and put others first!- Get through temptation calmly and like Him!- Listen, learn, and grow from the Spirit!- Journey from testimony to conversion!- GET OVER YOURSELFI absolutely loved this talk and it has had a major impact on me these past weeks! So this week I invite yall to find opportunities to "turn outward" like Jesus Christ! It may be uncomfortable or it may just be a complement to someone you don't know!!
