I had to say bye to my favorite people of Denham Springs which was so heart breaking. But I have met SO MANY amazing people here if Lafayette!!!

Met Sarah on Wednesday and we are having a WHITE CHRISTMAS!! Aka she's getting dunked on Christmas Eve!!!!!!! 
Please please please pray for her as she is overcoming her word of wisdom trials. 
She got a blessing to help her overcome these trials and right as they said amen she got up and gave all her cigs and her vape to us and said "IM DONE"
She then proceeded to walk out the doors BELTING "A Whole New World" from Aladin!!!
Sarah is the most spiritual person I have ever met. Everything that happens to that angel of a woman she gives thanks to God. It is truly inspiring how she sees God's hand in her life. 

Nchedo is from Nigeria!!! She is here getting her masters while her two girls are still over in Nigeria. She absolutely zonked during sacrament meeting!! Me too girl. Me too. 

Shae is my favorite ever! We met her on UL campus and WANTS TO BE BAPTIZED!!! Please pray that as she prays about the Book of Mormon that she may come to know the truthfulness of it for herself!!! 

Put Katelyn on date for the end of January!! She is so so ready for baptism! Pray for her as she is also seeking for her own confirmation that the Book of Mormon is true!! 

Mary is THEE coolest grandma (besides my own of course)!! She is this adorable Catholic who loves to talk about Jesus. She brags about us to her Jehovas Witness pastor of a brother about how she isn't just a grandma but she is a "spiritual grandma" cause she meets with us. Amen Mary.

My dream came true and I am now teaching a guy named BILLY (iykyk)!!!!!!! Billy is awesome with so many great questions!! He just lost his wife and is so very lost at this time so please pray for him as he continues to learn about the peace that this gospel brings! 

Decided to bike 10 miles to Maria's and boy was it worth it! Maria just lost her mom and is truly going through it. We got to share the Plan of HAPPINESS with her and I got to testify (again) to the peace that it truly brings me!! Gave her a Book of Mormon and she was so excited to read it. Pray for Maria as she is getting through this hard time in her life that she may know that she will see her mom again! 

Went campus contacting at UL and wow that was the time of my life! It was so fun to go out and talk to people my age! We met Lillian and she was on her way home for Christmas break to Zimbabwe! Kinda swag! Got to meet so many people and even saw some of the friends that we are teaching! On campus they have a free outdoor gym. It's legendary! 

This week has been so so so good here in Lafayette! The Spirit has been so strong!!! The people here are amazing and the ward is so so blessed!

We back babyyy!  This week did a whole lotta bikin thats for sure!!!  At least we have unlimited miles 😎 We have been working alot with inactive members because there are SO MANY of them here in this town it's crazy!!!  We've had some funny experiences with some of them!  We went and visited James who got baptized back in the 80's but a week after he decided he is part of a different religion?!?!  Asked him where he stood rn and he said he be a Jedi-ite! It's exactly what you are thinking right now... he believes that there is a force which has a light side and a dark side!  I was mind blown!!! I was just trying to be respectful and not laugh because truly that is the most pathetic thing I have heard on my mission!!!  We texted another member and asked how he was doing and he goes "not good. I just lost all my life's savings betting on college football last night and my cat died"  Oh...  Continues on to ask if he can get his tithing back......

  Another exciting week in the 4th most dangerous city in the U.S!!!!! Was walking out of an apartment complex and a lady was walking out in a big rush!!  God had different plans for her and a recipt flew out of her hands!!!  Stopped her and gave it back and she goes "oh yall are the church people"  Yeah we are!!!   Called back that night and she had read our pamphlet already!!!!  Went back the next day and taught her the plan of salvation and she absolutely loved it!!!  It was so blessed and it's so cool to see God's hand in people's lives!!!  Went to the ward trunk or treat and went around stealing the kids candy mwhahaha  Went and taught Renee and she goes "I'm tryna get rebaptized but my pastor won't let me!!!!"  Well wll well we can help ya out with that!!!  Told her to come to church and she agreed to come next week and goes "that way I can tell people I won't be there next week, I don't have to tell them where I'm going ...

Pathetic Panzees

  GUESS WHAT MOM?! I COME HOME THIS YEAR!!!!!!  Sister Stokes woke up one morning and the first thing she said was "I had a dream that we went to justin biebers house and we went fishing!!!!"  Hehe yes pls!!!!!!  This week was a whole lot of "huntin and fishin and lovin every day" to say the least!  Lots and lots of finding and man have we seen miracles!!!!!  We back at it with FREE JESUS BOOKS and it came in clutch!!  12 numbers in an hour????  UH HUH!!!!  Met Phillip!! He was baptized into a catholic church two weeks ago... and HES NOT EVEN CATHOLIC!!!! (Direct quote from Phillip!!!)  Came to church yesterday and absolutely LOVED IT!  Our bestie Nchedo made us some absolutely fire Nigerian food!  I'm not gonna wanna eat when I get home because food in Utah tastes like cardboard compared to here!!!  Probs a good thing... I'll lose all the weight I have gained since I have been out here!  Don't ask don't tell :))))...
